Overview of Common Configuration

After you perform initial configuration on Versa Operating SystemTM (VOSTM) devices, you configure the desired features on the VOS devices. You configure many basic and system-level features as follows:

  1. In Director view, select the Configuration tab from the top menu bar.
    1. Select Devices > Devices from the left menu bar.
    2. Select an organization in the left menu bar.
    3. Select a device, be it a branch, a Controller, or a hub, from the main page. The view changes to Appliance view.
  2. Select the Configuration tab from the top menu bar. The left menu bar changes, and now has the following four tabs described in the following, which are labeled with icons
    • Networking
    • Services
    • Objects & Connectors
    • Others
  3. Click Networking to configure the following features:

  4. Click Services to configure the following features:

  5. Click Objects & Connectors to configure objects and connections. Objects are common network functions or service instances. Connectors manage the transfer of information from VOS devices to other devices.

  6. Click Others to configure miscellaneous elements:

    • Alarms
    • Elasticity and elasticity profiles
    • High availability
    • Organization profiles, limits, and configuration
    • Service nodes and service node groups
    • System configuration, DNS servers, security package updates, time and date, storage configuration, and appliance user management
    • Syslog servers
    • VNF images, virtual machines, and aggregate resources
