Configure Digital Experience Monitoring

To periodically monitor end-to-end network and application performance for a user device, you can enable client-based Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) on SASE clients.
To configure client-based DEM:
- Go to Configure > Security Service Edge > Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM).
- Click Client-based DEM Profiles.

The following screen displays any previously configured DEM profiles.

- To customize which columns display, click Select Columns, and then click to select or deselect the columns that you want to display. Click Reset to return to the default column settings. The available columns are:
- Last Modified
- Predefined Applications
- User Defined Applications
- Click
Add to create a new DEM profile. The following screen displays.

- Select one or more custom or predefined applications.
Note: If DEM is enabled for this tenant, you can configure up to a total of 50 applications (predefined and custom). If DEM is not enabled, you can configure up to a total of three predefined and custom applications. For more information about enabling DEM for a tenant, see Configure SASE Tenants.
- Click Next to go to the Name, Description, and Tags section.

- Enter a name for the new DEM profile.
- Optionally, enter a description for the DEM profile, and one or more tags. A tag is an alphanumeric descriptor, with no white spaces or special characters, that you can use to search the objects.
- Click Save. The following screen displays.

- You can now assign this client-based DEM profile to a secure remote access client-based profile, or you can choose to do this at a later time.
- To assign the DEM profile at a later time, click "I will assign this client-based DEM profile to secure remote access profile later". This is the default.
- To assign the client-based DEM profile to an existing secure remote access client-based profile:
- Click "Select one or more existing secure remote access profiles to assign to this client-based DEM profile."
- Click Select Secure Remote Access Profiles. The following screen displays.

- Click one or more existing profiles to move them to the box on the right.

- In the Available Profiles box, click the
Expand icon to display the details of the profile. - Click Submit.
- To create a new client-based DEM profile, click Create a new secure remote access profile and assign this client-based profile. The Create Secure Client Access Profile screen displays. See Configure SASE Secure Client-Based Access Profiles for more information.
