Configure Application Monitoring in Concerto
For supported software information, click here.
You can configure application monitoring to monitor traffic actively and continuously across the network, and to report about the traffic. You can monitor an IP address or a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) by configuring an application monitor object and then associating the object with the IP address or FQDN. To verify whether the IP address or FQDN is up or down, the application monitor sends either DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP or TCP probe packets.
To configure application monitoring:
- In Tenant view, go to Configure > Profile Elements > Elements > Monitor > Application Monitor.

If there are no application monitors configured, the following screen displays.

- Click Application Monitor. The Add Application Monitor screen displays.
- In Step 1, Settings, enter information for the following fields. Note that the fields on this screen will change based on the monitor protocol that you select. See the table below for more details.

Field Description Monitor Protocol Select a protocol type to use for the monitor:
- DNS
- HTTP
- HTTPS
- ICMP
- TCP
Operation Select the AND or OR Boolean operator. Domain Name (For DNS only.) Enter the domain name for the application monitor. Destination Port (For DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP only.) For example, if you issue the HTTP request GET /vpntest HTTP/1.0\r\nUser-Agent:Versa IP SLA\r\nHost:httpserver.com\r\n\r\n;, the monitor sends a GET request to the httpserver.com to retrieve information.

Default: 2 seconds

Nexthop Appliance Select the next hop appliance to receive the probe packets and send them to the destination address specified in the Target Value field.
