Director Alarms
For supported software information, click here.
Director nodes generate alarms for Director activities such as automatic failover to a node in a Director HA pair. Note that the Director application also generates alarms. For a list of Director application alarms , see AMQP Event Notifications.
You can view Director alarms from the Director GUI. In Director View, select the Monitor tab, and then select Director from the Organization drop-down list. Then in the Recent Events pane, select the View Details icon to display the Director Recent Events table. The table includes both Director alarms and Director application alarms.
The following table describes the alarms generated by Director nodes.
Alarm | Description |
---|---|
auto-failover | An automatic failover event occurred, which indicates that the active Director node went down. |
backup-operation-failed | A backup operation on the Director node failed. |
backup-operation-successful | A backup operation on the Director node was successful. |
cpe-license-threshold-reached |
The maximum number of Versa Operating SystemTM (VOSTM) CPE licenses has been reached. The maximum number of trial licenses is 12. The maximum number of production licenses is typically 5000, but this number can vary depending on the terms of your software license agreement. When the number of licenses used reaches 90% of the threshold, an alarm is generated. |
digital-cert-validity |
The Director GUI CA certificate is nearing its expiration. When the CA certificate is 30 days from expiration, a warning alarm is generated. When the CA certificate is 7 days from expiration, a critical alarm is generated. When the CA certificate is renewed, this alarm is automatically cleared. |
director-high-cpu-usage | CPU usage on the Director node has exceeded its maximum threshold. The default threshold is 70% of the total CPU. |
director-high-disk-usage | Disk usage on the Director node has exceeded its maximum threshold. The default threshold for each partition is 70% of the total disk space |
director-high-memory-usage | Memory usage on the Director node has exceeded its maximum threshold. The default threshold is 75% of the total memory. |
license-validity |
The Director license is nearing its expiration. When the license is 30 days from expiration, a warning alarm is generated. When the license is 7 days from expiration, a critical alarm is generated. When the license is renewed, this alarm is automatically cleared. |
master-arrived |
Sent by the backup Director node to acknowledge that the active node is present and reachable. |
master-died | Sent by the backup Director node when the active node is no longer reachable. |
manual-failover | High availability (HA) failover was manually initiated. |
slave-arrived | Sent by the active Director node to acknowledge that the backup node is present and reachable. |
slave-died | Sent by the active Director node when the backup node is no longer reachable. |
split-brain-mode | Sent by the backup Director node when the active and backup nodes enter split-brain mode. |
user-login-failure | A user login from the GUI or from the REST API failed. |
