Configure the Hardware Device Inventory

To add a Versa Operating SystemTM (VOSTM) device to the hardware inventory for an organization:

  1. In Director view, select the Administration tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select Inventory > Hardware in the left menu bar.
  3. Select an organization in the horizontal menu bar.
  4. Click the add-icon.png Add icon to add a VOS device to the organization's hardware inventory.

  5. Select the Basic tab, enter information for the following fields.
     
    Field Description
    Device Name Enter a name for the device.
    Serial Number Enter the serial number of the device.
    Model Number Enter the model number of the device.
    Tags Enter text strings that describe the device.
    Site Name Enter the name of the site where the device is located.
    Site ID  Select the identifier of the site where the device is located..
    Status

    Select the status mode of the device:

    • Shipped—When a device is manufactured and ready for use, the state of the device is Shipped.
    • Claimed—When a branch administrator makes an attempt to claim a device, an IPsec tunnel is set up between the branch and controller. The controller communicates the status of the branch to Versa Director after which Versa Director initiates a two-factor authentication process.
    • Unclaimed—If a device cannot be claimed, its status is set to Unclaimed.
    Organization Select the organization to which the device belongs.
  6. Select the Location Information tab, and enter location information and the latitude and longitude of the VOS device.
  7. Select the URL-Based ZTP tab, and enter information for the following fields.
     
    Field Description
    Auth Id Enter the local IPsec PSK authentication ID, such as abc@xyz.com.
    Auth Key Enter the local IPsec PSK authentication key.
    DNS Server Select the DNS server to use to resolve FQDNs, such as the Controller IP address.
    MTU Enter the MTU value for the branch WAN interface on staging takes place.
    IPv4
    IPv6
    Select whether the WAN interface to use for staging is running IPv4 or IPv6.
    Address Enter the static WAN interface address that you are using for staging.
    Gateway Enter a default route for the WAN interface that you are using for staging.
    DHCPv4  Click to have the staging WAN interface act as a DHCPv4 client.
    DHCPv6 Click to have the staging WAN interface act as a DHCP v6 client.
  8. Click OK.

To delete an existing hardware device, select the check box corresponding to the hardware device and click the delete.png Delete icon in the top right corner.

To filter the configuration screen table information, click the filter.png Filter Records in the top right corner.
