A network is a collection of similar interfaces that run on similar routing instances. To help manage multiple interfaces, you can create a network by combining such interfaces. For example, you can create a network with VNI interface that runs on the BGP routing protocol. One interface can be a part of only one network.

To configure a network:

1. In the Director view:
   1. Select the Administration tab in the top menu bar.
   2. Select Appliances in the left menu bar.
   3. Select a device name in the main panel. The view changes to Appliance view.
2. Select the Configuration tab in the top menu bar.
3. Select the Networking > Networks in the left menu bar. The main pane displays the interfaces tabs.
4. Click the + Add to add a network. Enter the following information in the Add Network popup window.
   
   
    

   Field	Description
   Name	Enter a name for the network.
   Network Type	Select the type of network: Input Output
   Description	Enter a text description for the network.
   Tags	Enter a tag to identify the network.
   Interfaces	Click the Add icon to add interfaces to the network, and select an interface that is configured on the device. Note that you can add only mutually exclusive interfaces. For example, you cannot create a network with vni-0/1.4 and ae2.5 interfaces if ae2.5 already has vni-0/1.4.

5. Click OK. The main pane displays the network that you configured.
