Enable SMS Text Messaging

To configure Versa Director to send SMS text messages to a mobile phone to communicate network events:
- Create an SMS services account with Plivo. Plivo is the only SMS services provider currently supported by Versa Director. For information about creating a Plivo account, see https://console.plivo.com/accounts/register/.
- From your Plivo account, collect the following information:
- Authentication ID
- Authentication token
- Phone number
- Log in to Versa Director.
- Select the Administration tab in the top menu bar.
- Select Notification Configuration > SMS in the left menu bar. Note that in earlier releases, you could configure SMTP and SMS notifications on a single screen.
- In the SMS Configuration pane, click the Edit icon. In the Add SMS Configuration popup window, enter information for the following fields.
Field Description Enable SMS Configuration Click to enable SMS. Provider (Required) Enter Plivo as the SMS service provider name. Phone Number (Required) Enter the phone number that you received from the SMS service provider. Auth ID (Required) Enter the authentication ID that you received from the SMS service provider. Auth Token Enter the authentication token that you received from the SMS service provider. - Click OK.
- Review the field values in the SMS Configuration pane to confirm that they are correct. If they are not, click the Edit icon, enter the correct values, and then click OK.
Supported Software Information
Releases 20.2 and later support all content described in this article, except:
- In Release 22.1.3, the SMTP and SMS notification configurations no longer appear on the same screen. There are now separate SMTP and SMS notification configuration screens.
