Power Supply Status Alarms

Versa-logo-release-icon.pngFor supported software information, click here.

Versa Operating SystemTM (VOSTM) hardware platforms that have multiple pluggable power supply units generate power supply (PSU) status alarms, which report information about power supply status and the number of alarms triggered and cleared. An alarm is triggered when the power supply is receiving no power from the slot in which it is installed.

The following VOS hardware platform models support multiple power supplies and thus report power supply alarms. These are mostly server-class devices.

  • Advantech 3260
  • Advantech 5020
  • Advantech 5070
  • Lanner NCA 5520
  • Riverbed 3080
  • Riverbed 6080
  • Versa CSG1300
  • Versa CSG1500

power-supply-status

Description Provides the number of alarms triggered when the power supply is receiving no power from the slot in which it is installed.
Cause
  • Power supply is unplugged from its slot or is not present.
  • Power supply's power cord is not connected.
  • Power supply's power source is not operational.
  • Power supply module is not functional.
Action

When you resolve all the causes that triggered alarms on one or more power supplies, the power supply status alarm clear message is issued, indicating that all the power supplies are operational.

Related Commands

  • To display power supply status alarms, issue the following command:
admin@versa-VOS-cli> show alarms

The following output examples show the power supply status alarms set and cleared on a device with two power supply units, PSU1 and PSU2.

The following example output shows the power supply status alarm after you unplug the power supply cable from PSU2:

admin@versa-VOS-cli> show alarms last-n 10

oam powerSupplyStatus 2020-09-14T17:14:44-0 Versa-Provider: Clear power supply status

If you plug in the PSU2 and no power supply cable attached, no status clear alarm is generated.

The following example output shows the power supply status alarm when you remove the power supply cable for PSU1 when both PSU1 and PSU2 are connected and the power supply alarm status is currently cleared:

oam powerSupplyStatus 2020-09-14T17:14:44-0 Versa-Provider: Clear power supply status

  • To set power supply status alarms destination, issue the following command:
admin@Perf-Branch1-cli(config)% set alarms power-supply-status

Possible completions:
