Configure Signature Verification for Software Package Uploads

You can use digital signature verification to verify Director and Versa Operating SystemTM (VOSTM) software packages that are uploaded using a Director node. When you initiate a package upload, the Director node also uploads the signature file to verify the package. If the verification succeeds, the Director node saves the package. If the signature verification fails, the image is deleted and the upload fails.

Enable Signature Verification

  1. In Director view, select the Administration tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select System > Settings in the left menu bar. In Releases 22.1.1 and earlier, select System > Secure Upload Setting in the left menu bar.
  3. In the Settings dashboard, click the edit_icon.pngEdit icon in the Secure Upload section.

  4. In the Edit Secure Upload Setting popup window, click to enable or disable secure upload.

  5. Click OK.

Upload a Signature File

After you enable signature verification, you upload the signature file:

  1. In Director view, select the Administration tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select Inventory > Software Images in the left menu bar.
  3. In the Software (VOS/Director) tab, select Package Downloads tab, and then click the add_icon2.png Add icon.

  4. In the Add Software Package popup window, enter information for the following fields.

    Field Description
    Package Name (Required) Enter a name for the software package.
    Description Enter a description for the software package.
    Product Type (Required)

    Select the product type:

    • Director
    • VOS
    Signature Upload Click browse_icon.png Browse File and select the signature file toupload_icon.png upload.
  5. Click Upload. After the signature file is uploaded, a confirmation is displayed.

Supported Software Information

Releases 21.1.1 and later support all content described in this article, except:

  • In Release 22.1.2, add System > Settings in the left menu bar and move System> Secure Upload Setting item in the left menu bar to System > Settings.
